Phillipsburg's Town Council has approved an ordinance establishing guidelines for the redevelopment of the former Ingersoll Rand property.
Opus Investment Group LLC of Medford, NJ, is proposing to turn the 200+ acres into a distribution center with nine warehouses, creating 800 to 1,000 jobs.
"It's one more step on the way toward getting this site developed," said Council Vice President Todd Tersigni, a WCEDAC member. The town and developer must still draft an agreement on land acquisition costs and other details of the property's sale and use.
